To me the transitory nature of being and the changing rhythms of life define reality. My work reflects this impermanance. Inspiration for a painting often involves color, motion and moments of complete awareness. My process allows me opportunities to make mistakes. Each iteration brings the painting closer to what it is I wish to convey. The thin transparent layers of stratum beneath the finished layer creates a working journal or profile of sorts. Working in a fast intuitive way keeps me invested because it is challenging and provides an opportunity for artistic growth. It is evidence of change that helps me understand my relationship to the natural world.
